Beyond Compare by Scooter Software

Beyond Compare is a file comparison utility that is an excellent source code manager. It lets you quickly see the differences in the recursive contents of two folders, and is highly configurable, easy to use, and an excellent way to compare folders.

It displays two selected folders side by side and lets you view folder information a number of ways through filters. You can view all files, matching files, mismatched files, and so on, with differences color-coded so that you can spot them easily. You can synchronize, copy and move files from one folder to the other with ease, rename and delete files, and even apply time zone settings to one folder or another.

Text files can be compared using the built-in side-by-side file viewer, which also uses color coding to highlight differences. Other features of this source code manager include fast comparison of binary files, print support, Clipboard support, and optional automatic backup.
